Born as the middle child in a family of seven children, one dad, and various stepmothers, Callista felt an abnormal amount of confidence. Her biological mother always said that her baby girl was going somewhere with life because she wouldn’t take no for answer, but three stepmothers later, there was no longer the motherly bond. With that, Callista built up a wall, strong and independent on the outside, but broken and torn on the inside. Despite all that, she forced herself to continue on with life. It was in her final year of high school that she decided that university wasn’t for her. Although her father, as well as most of her siblings disagreed with her because of the high marks she had achieved, Callista managed to convince them that she’d much rather take a year off to do what she liked.

Eventually she stumbled across These Vices. Without a second thought, she took up their offer to be the merch girl. Travelling with them felt comfortable and more at home than her actual home. Close friends with all the band members, Callista found her at ease rather than lonely and lost without her mother, in fact, they helped her overcome it for the most part. Earning enough money to survive, she didn’t see a reason to leave, and so begged her father not to send her off to university. Not being okay with her decisions, they came up with an agreement: as long as she took her online courses there was no problem with keeping her job. Happily accepting, Callista began her studies in the humanities.
